Jesus has given gifts ot the Body of Christ (the church) for us to build up the church and expand the Kingdom of GOD. Whether in leadership or service, every member has a part to play in the Body of Christ; where are you serving?
In the second half of Ephesians, Paul switches from rich theology to rich practicality. He begins with the church's unity which is founded in the unity of GOD Himself. We explore the Character, Cause, and Charge of Christian unity.
Paul's prayer, which he began in V.1, is picked up again here. Specifically he prays for the Body of Christ, the New Humanity. His prayer, and indeed my prayer for every believer as well, is for our strength, love and fullness.
The mystery is that, in Christ, the gentiles (including you and me) experience union with Christ and also with fellow believers. We are saved into Gospel community and made heirs of GOD in Christ. And this powerful position guides every believer into the ministry (not necessarily the clergy) of advancing the Kingdom of GOD.
We conclude our Easter Series in I Peter 1:3-5. Every believer is given the gift of Resurrection Life. In this message we explore what Resurrection Life is, why it's so critical for the believer to know he/she has it and what our lives look like when we live it.
When you recognize that Christ died for your sins, the cross takes on significance in your life. Receiving GOD's free gift of eternal life is the beginning of finding your life's purpose in Christ's passion.
